How Siana Predicts and Prevents Failure in Decanter Centrifuge

At a Danish food processing plant, the Decanter Centrifuge is machine crucial for separating animal fat and protein. With only two units on-site, any failure poses a significant risk to production continuity.

The Siana System identified an emerging failure in on of these machines, and automatically notified the maintenance staff on the 8th of November, 2023. As result of this, and due to the criticality of the machine, an external maintenance team (specialized in servicing this type of machine) was called in to perform the needed repair on the 19th of November, 2023, during the weekend where production downtime was already planned. The maintenance work included bearing replacement and the addition of extra oil to ensure the machine's optimal performance.
